Charla Haubold president of Texoma CattleWomen, has recently announced that the Texas CattleWomen will again be providing scholarships to qualified young people this year.
The process to locate worthy recipients to receive three $1,200 scholarships for the fall semester has already begun. Candidates should be majoring in nutrition, restaurant/hotel management, or agricultural communications.
In addition to the three scholarships funded directly by their organization, Texas CattleWomen will again administer the IVOMEC Generations Of Excellence program this year which includes one $1,000 scholarship for the fall '99 semester and one $l,000 nternship for Summer '99.
Also, there will be an additional $16,000 in IVOMEC: Generations Of Excellence scholarships given by Texas CattleWomen later this year for use in 2000. Six $1,500 and seven $1,000 scholarships will be offered to a qualifying college junior, senior: or graduate student.
Candidates should come from a ranching family and plan to seek a career associated with the beef industry to qualify for the IVOMEC: Generations of Excellence scholarships. Texas CattleWomen have received approximately $105,000 during the last three years from their partnership efforts with Merial, the manufacturer of IVOMEC.
The IVOMEC Generations Of Excellence Program originated in 1996 and has become a national success with contributions to state cattle associations exceeding $1000. Monies are used solely for scholarship and leadership activities to benefit young people.
Texoma Cattle Women are comprised of 19 local members who work to support and promote the beef industry.

Justin D. Behrens awarded Scholarship

Justin D. Behrens of Bells, has been awarded the IVOMEC: Generations of Excellence New Year's scholarship. This scholarship has been awarded by Texoma CattleWomen.
The special New Year scholarship is made available through the IVOMEC - Generation of Excellence program administered by Texas CattleWomen and is in addition to regular scholarships previously given. Texas CattleWomen have received approximately $90,000 during the last three years from their partnership efforts with Merial, the manufacturer of IVOMEC. The IVOMEC - Generations of Excellence program originated in 1996 and has become a national success with contributions to state cattle associations exceeding $1,000,000. Monies are used solely for scholarship and leadership activities to benefit young people.
Texoma CattleWomen, a member of Texas CattleWomen is comprised of members from Fannin, Grayson, Cooke, Wise, Collin Counties in Texas and Bryan County in Oklahoma.
Justin is the son of Kay Behrens of Bells and Richard Behrens of Denison. He is a 1993 graduate of Bells High School and is attending Texas A&M, Commerce. He is currently doing his student teaching at the Tom Bean High School Ag Department.
